Comprehensive NDIS FAQs
1. NDIS Early Childhood Supports
How do I get started with Care Loop Health for my child?
You can complete our online referral form directly, or call our team. We will schedule an initial intake assessment to discuss your child’s goals and outline a tailored support plan.
Can therapy sessions take place at my child’s childcare or school?
Yes. We deliver flexible services where your child feels most comfortable, including home visits, childcare centers, kindergartens, and school environments across Australia.
2. NDIS Group Programs
Do I need prior experience to join a specific class, like art or cooking?
Not at all! Our programs are designed for all skill levels. Our facilitators adapt the activities to match your current abilities and help you progress at a pace that feels right for you.
Is transportation provided for community outings?
Yes, we can arrange safe, accessible transportation to and from our centre or community venues. This can be discussed and factored into your service agreement before you begin.
Can I trial a group program before committing?
Absolutely. We encourage new participants to come along for a trial session to meet the team, interact with other group members, and see if the environment is the right fit for your needs.
3. NDIS Habit Coaches
How is a Habit Coach different from a Support Worker?
A traditional support worker often does tasks for you or assists you in completing them on the day. A Habit Coach focuses on teaching you how to build the systems and neural pathways so you can eventually complete the tasks independently.
Where do coaching sessions take place?
We offer flexible delivery! Sessions can happen in your own home (where your habits actually take place), out in the community, or via secure Telehealth video calls, depending on what works best for you.
4. NDIS Improved Daily Living Programs
How long does it take to see progress?
Capacity building is a journey, and timelines vary for everyone. We set realistic, incremental milestones so you can celebrate small victories along the way. Consistent attendance and practicing skills between sessions will accelerate your progress.
Can my family be involved in the therapy sessions?
Absolutely. We strongly encourage a family-centered approach, especially for children and young adults. We train parents and caregivers on how to reinforce these daily living skills outside of formal therapy hours.
5. NDIS Occupational Therapy
Do I need a referral to see an Occupational Therapist at Care Loop Health?
While many of our participants are referred by their NDIS Support Coordinators or Local Area Coordinators (LACs), you can also self-refer directly through our website. You do not need a formal doctor's referral to access our NDIS-funded services.
How long does an OT assessment usually take?
An initial functional assessment typically takes between 1.5 to 2 hours of face-to-face time in your home environment. Following the visit, our therapist will spend several hours drafting the comprehensive NDIA-compliant report for your plan review.
6. NDIS Speech Pathology
At what age should I seek Speech Pathology for my child?
Early intervention is crucial. If you notice your child is not meeting standard communication milestones, is easily frustrated when trying to communicate, or has difficulty chewing and swallowing, it is highly recommended to seek an assessment immediately. We support children starting from the age of 0 under the NDIS Early Childhood Approach.
Do you provide assessments for NDIS plan reviews?
Yes. Our Speech Pathologists write detailed, evidence-based progress reports and functional assessments to ensure the NDIA has all the clinical justification needed to renew or increase your therapy funding during your plan review.
